As I reflect on this past year, it’s clear that McMillen Health has achieved significant milestones . We successfully delivered preventive health education programs to 97,224 students through 2,769 sessions. This accomplishment underscores our unwavering commitment to health education, driven by the generous support of our partners and stakeholders. We are especially grateful for a $1 million restricted grant from the Lilly Endowment, which has enabled us to make updates to our facility, expand our team of health educators, and enhance our Choices Today, Options Tomorrow (CTOT) curriculum with evidence-based certification. The Healthy Tomorrow app has seen remarkable advancements with funding from Purdue University’s Seed Funding. We’ve added a Maternal Mental Health category to support expectant and new mothers. Additionally, grants from Allen County Health First and DeKalb County Health First have allowed us to expand our “Mom & Me” days into new counties. Our other notable projects this year include: Development of the Super Smiles oral health curriculum for K-2 students in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Health. Creation of the Fresh Air for Baby & Me smoking cessation curriculum, serving pregnant or recently pregnant parents in Allen County, supported by the Together We Will grant.
